The aim of the HDSAA is to make sport and active recreation accessible for all people throughout the Harborough District enabling them to fulfil their potential through sport and physical activity. In a nutshell, due to the reorganisation of Sport England £5,000 is available to invest in local sport and recreation. The sports alliance will also support a number of projects from it's action plan and also consider grant applications up to £250.

Get Moving with Harborough Joggers

Join the Harborough Joggers for fun recreational jogging. The pace is easy and it's a great way to get fit and meet new people. The Joggers meet outside Harborough  Leisure Centre every Thursday at 6.45pm and the free sessions last around half an hour. Jogs are lead by Physical Activity Co-ordinator, Marianne Boyle. Projects

The HDSAA delivers projects from an annual action plan. To find out more about current project please download the

Current projects that the HDSAA are involved with include:

  • Tennis For Free - In partnership with Harborough District Council and the HDSAA, Tennis For Free are now providing free coaching at Welland Park.
  • Step Out - The HDSAA submitted a funding bid to Awards For All for a rural dance project and was awarded around £10,000 to develop a programme of dance activities. The project has initially been available in Tilton-on-the-Hill and Broughton Astley and will activties are now taking place in a further five locations including Market Harborough, Lutterworth, Fleckney, Medbourne and Thurnby from September 2008.
